החופשה הזאת תוכננה הרבה זמן לפני המלחמה אבל הגיעה בדיוק בזמן להפוגה של שבוע מהאזעקות  ,באחד מהאיזורים השקטים והתרבותיים ביותר בעולם - איזור האגמים של אנגליה .

המטרה היתה לצאת לכמה שיותר טיולים ברגל . האיזור מלא בטרקים מסוגים שונים , מאוד מגוון ומאוד נוח .כנקודת המוצא הראשונה בחרנו בבית של קייט קירקווד ,שם שכרנו חדר דרך

בסלון האח המקורית ועל התיקרה עדיין תלויים ווי המתכת עליהם נתלו נתחי בשר לעישון לפני כמה מאות

ריצפת העץ מקורית , מלאה חריצים ובקיעים ועושה הרבה רעש כשדורכים עליה .

כשיוצאים מהדלת נמצאים ממש על דרך קמבריה ואפשר לעשות מסלולים מסוגים שונים

מגיעים לנופים אנגליים קלאסיים עם הרבה מאוד כבשים ופרות , לנופים פראיים יותר וכמובן לפאב ,דרך העמק והחוות החקלאיות שבדרך

This vacation was planned long before the war, but arrived just in time for a week's break in one of the quietest and most civilized places in the world - England's Lakes District.

Or her real name - Cumbria

The goal was to go on as many walks as possible . An area devoted to walks of every kind at every level of fitness. We chose as our first home stay that of Kate Kirkwood, where we rented a room through Airbnb

We saw pictures of the house on the site but the reality exceeded all imagination  

 An isolated farmhouse perched on a hill  , with dream like views.

The house, partly from the 17th century , old, sweet, simple and lovely.

Original wood floor,full of cracks which make a lot of noise when stepped on.

Leaving the door you step out on to a small  Cumbrian lane and you can do different types of tracks .
